Hello, and welcome to the Chelan XC Open 2008 Canadian Nationals and Pre-PWC! This years Chelan XC Open is USHPA and HPAC, FAI Category 2 Sanctioned, as well as a Pre-Paragliding World Cup event, that will take place at Chelan Butte, near the town of Chelan Washington, USA. The event is 6 days, starting Monday July 28th and ending Saturday August 2nd.
Over the years, Chelan has been host to numerous free flight competitions, including U.S. Paragliding Nationals, U.S. Hang Gliding Nationals, and Womens World Hang Gliding Championships. Chelan Butte is well established as one of the premier XC sites in North America. The site provides a unique opportunity to combine foot launched flights with flat-land flying. Throw-in consistent, strong thermals and a great vacation town and you have all the ingredients for a successful and fun competition. Registration opens March 15th and the entry fee is $285 until June 15th, and $325 after. Entry fee includes transport to launch and retrieves..
